Touch ‘Em All #72

(Recorded on September 21, 2015)

The playoffs are two weeks away.  Almost everything in the National League is is in place while the American League features two compelling division races.  Host Jim Williams and “fan-alysts” Chico Alexander and Jason Hernandez look at the standings and offer up a few choice series worth watching in the season’s penultimate week.

Also, the ongoing saga of Matt Harvey’s 2015 season gets more and more bizarre.  Apparently, the supposed innings limit was put in place not by Dr. James Andrews but by his agent Scott Boras.  Our baseball guys put their heads together to look at how the Mets are handling or mishandling the situation and how it factors into their playoff aspirations.

David Ortiz belted his 500th career home run last week in Tampa.  That should cement him as a first ballot hall of famer, right?  We’ll debate that very thought.

Bryce Harper has become one of only a select few to hit 40 home runs in a season at the age of 22.  We’ll discuss whether his best years lie ahead in Washington or somewhere else.

Plus, a tribute to the late Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton and a feel good story from this year’s Little League World Series that you probably didn’t hear or see on this week’s Pennant Chase podcast available for streaming of downloading HERE.
